THE VALLEY VANGUARD MASTHEAD
The Valley Vanguard, SVSU’s student run newspaper since 1967, had an outdated branding feel. The aging graphics were the most obvious on their website, their social media presence, and in the weekly print edition of the paper. From the older serif typeface used in the past, I chose to push the Vanguard into the modern design age with a blocky, sans serif typeface that worked in the newspaper’s masthead, shown above. This is displayed at the top of every edition of the newspaper, and on their website homepage as well.
The Valley Vanguard Stamp
This glyph-based stamp logo is ideal for smaller applications like icons, wearable branding, and is used throughout the website.
